A peace conference has been held by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Association at a school in Kings Langley.
The organisation, based in Watford, held the event at Kings Langley Primary School in Common Lane, on Sunday, April 25.
A number of residents from across the county attended the event to hear Faiz Ahmad Zahid, the regional missionary for Hertfordshire, deliver a speech about Islamic perspective on loyalty to country and religion.
Visitors were also introduced briefly to the teachings of Islam and their relevance in modern society.
Following this, a question and answer session was held with four representatives from the Ahmadiyya community.
Lutful Islam, a spokesman for the Ahmadiyya movement, founded in the nineteenth century, said: “There are over 90 branches of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community throughout the UK and they actively work to spread the peaceful message of Islam.
“It is our belief that tolerance and respect are the foundations of a peaceful society and we are committed to working with people of all faiths to enable everyone to practice their religion without hindrance.
“All guests were very happy at this opportunity to meet the Ahmadiyya community.”
