INDIA: AHMADIYYA MUSLIM ANNUAL CONVENTION [JALSA SALANA] WILL ENCOURAGE CONVERSIONS, NON-AHMADI MUSLIMS FEAR

Muslims from many parts of the state have protested against the Annual Convention of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, currently underway in Qadian, district Gurdaspur, from December 26 to 28, which according to them is a platform for converting Muslims. The Times of India.

Qadian, India - Several sects of Muslims have voiced their concerns over the possibility of losing their followers to Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, The Times of India reported.

Led by a Shahi imam [mosque leader],  Muslims of various sects from all across the state joined hands on Friday and protested against the Jalsa Salana [Annual Convention] organized by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in Qadian, India, which according to the protesters is a platform for converting Muslims to Ahmadiyya Muslims.

Following the Friday prayers in Ludhiana, India, some people gathered to stage protests against Jalsa Salana and delivered a letter to the deputy commissioner, and for the chief minister, Prakash Singh Badal.  Other protests were also organized to voice similar concerns in the Jama Mosques of several parts of the state.

According to the reports filed by The Time of India, the protesters demanded that the administration should force the event cancelled because the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community indulged in accepting other Muslims to their fold, which was not acceptable to them.
